The Twitter thought police recently blocked a widely-respected, pro-life news outlet from accessing its account over a four-year-old tweet that contained facts about how homosexual men are prominent carriers of sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs).
Dr. Gerard M. Nadal, a molecular biologist and microbiologist who also serves as president and CEO of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, had tweeted for LifeSiteNews back in 2014 about a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) annual report that contained official statistics on the spread of STDs within the LGBT community.
Rather than tow the leftist line that notable rises in STD spread are a result of “homophobia,” Dr. Nadal instead pointed to the facts. He tweeted that there’s an “upward trend in unprotected sex” among homosexual men in particular, and that 60 percent of homosexual men who are infected with STDs don’t even bother to reveal this important information to their sex partners.
To back these claims, Dr. Nadal linked to data not only from the CDC, but also from The New York Times and a study published in the journal AIDS Behavior. In other words, it wasn’t opinion he was sharing at the time, but undeniable fact – along with the fact that homosexual men have a substantially higher risk of contracting anal cancer due to their sexual behavior, another fact that the thought police doesn’t want to go mainstream.
Even so, Twitter and its hordes of non-playable characters (NPCs) were apparently triggered by the tweet. LifeSiteNews says it received a notification from Twitter on October 18, 2018, indicating that the tweet, which was completely neutral and entirely factual, violated the tech giant’s “rules against hateful conduct.”
Twitter further accused LifeSiteNews of promoting “violence,” and “threaten[ing]” and “harass[ing] other people on the basis of … sexual orientation … or serious disease.”
This was pretty much the only explanation LifeSiteNews received from Twitter, which offered the news site two options to regain access to its account: either remove the “offending” tweet or initiate an appeal process.
Again, there was nothing in the tweet in question that was even remotely of an opinionated nature – and even if there was, this would still qualify as free speech, right? Wrong. The tech cabal, as we’ve seen in recent months, cares nothing about free speech or the First Amendment, and would rather put more people’s lives at risk by withholding true, factual information than dare to violate the unstated and always evolving “rules” of “political correctness.”
“This total intolerance for even reporting government health department statistics that reveal the health dangers of homosexual activity betrays what Peter Thiel, himself a homosexual, previously called a totalitarian mindset in Silicon Valley,” stated Steve Jalsevac, co-founder and president of LifeSiteNews.
“Twitter is now trying to force news agencies to report only what is acceptable to their personal, biased views and shutting down balanced, factual reporting on the homosexual issue.”
One day before LifeSiteNews was targeted by the Twitter thought police, Peter LaBarbera from Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) had a similar experience. LaBarbera says he was banned from Twitter over a 2016 tweet that described homosexual acts as a “sin” that “spreads disease.”
“If Twitter no longer allows its users to advocate for healthy behaviors on its platform, and to defend their sincere moral and religious beliefs – shared by billions worldwide – then it will devolve into a bland, politically correct echo-chamber,” LaBarbera stated.
Jalsevac agrees, having himself stated that the whole situation of ongoing and blatant censorship by the social media mafia is “dangerous” because “a free press is one of the basic and necessary foundations for a genuinely democratic society.”
