In case you missed it — and judging by the historically low viewership you probably did — the 90th Academy Awards were broadcast on ABC Sunday, and for the second year in a row, they were hosted by comedian-turned-Alt-Left activist-in-chief Jimmy Kimmel.
As expected, the host turned the opening monologue into a hatefest directed at conservatives, President Donald J. Trump, the NRA, guns in general, and males.
Again, expected. That helps explain the historically low viewership numbers.
But Kimmel’s schtick wasn’t just politically nauseating to a majority of Americans, it was borderline criminal.
During the monologue, Kimmel told a “joke” that didn’t just fall flat, it was demonstrative of how tone-deaf he remains given the recent sexual scandals that have rocked his industry.
“Of the nine Best Picture nominees, only two made more than $100 million. That’s not the point,” Kimmel said. “We don’t make films like ‘Call Me By Your Name’ for money. We make them to upset Mike Pence.”
Har, har, Jimmy. Not only was the joke panned mightily on that social media sewer known as Twitter, it was “a pathetic admission of just how low liberal elites will sink in order to criticize the Trump administration,” The Western Journal noted.
If you’re not familiar with the film, it is set in Italy and involves a homosexual relationship between two young men; Vice President Mike Pence is a devout Christian and so Mr. Tender Liberal felt the need to mock that.
There’s more. Demonstrating how tone-deaf he is, the relationship between the film’s two main characters would be considered illegal in many regions of the United States; one is a 17-year-old boy, the other a 24-year-old young man.
Now, you may recall that Hollywood has been rocked this past year with sexual scandal after sexual scandal, many involving alleged pedophilia. And because of this, the film was heavily criticized even before Kimmel’s badly-timed joke. (Related: OUTRAGE! As Newstarget reported in November, actor Corey Feldman, in an interview with the “Today” show’s Matt Lauer (who himself was forced to resign amid numerous accusations of sexual misconduct), said that he was preparing to release the names of everyone in Hollywood he knows of that has engaged in “predatory pedophilia.”
When asked by Lauer why he had not gone to the police, Feldman responded: “I told the police. In fact, if anyone wants to go back to 1993, when I was interviewed by the Santa Barbara Police Department, I sat there and gave them names. They are on record. They have all this information, but they were scanning Michael Jackson. All they cared about was trying to find something on Michael.”
“And that was what the interview was about with the police in 1993. I told them, he is not that guy. And they said, maybe you don’t understand your friend. And I said, no, I know the difference between pedophiles and somebody that is not a pedophile because I have been molested. Here’s the names, go investigate.
“And let me push this forward, there are thousands of people in Hollywood that have the same information,” he continued. “There are thousands of people out there, Matt, who have this information. Any one of those child actors that went to the teenage soda pop clubs with me when I was a kid, know who those people are and the people who ran it. Anybody can go back through history and look at the Teen magazines and say what was the name of that venue they were promoting and who ran that venue own who endorsed it.”
After being told the film Kimmel used to insult the VP did not contain an instance of “child grooming,” Feldman hit back on Twitter. “Really? Have U seen it? What’s it about then? How do U justify a grown man starting a relationship with someone’s child?”
That’d be a great question for Hollywood’s most disgusting person at the Oscars – Jimmy Kimmel.
