The more the social media giants Facebook and Google deny that they lean heavily to the Left or that they ban, censor and disparage conservatives, the more we find out otherwise.
As reported by The Daily Caller on Saturday, Google was preparing to rent out its lobbying headquarters in Washington, D.C., to a far-Left organization holding a fundraising event for top Senate Democrats, but the company canceled just days ahead of time (after officials realized they were about to be outed).
The organization, called “Run For Something,” grooms up-and-coming Democrats for all levels of elected and appointed government offices. The event, “Party For Something,” was to take place on the 74th anniversary of D-Day, June 6. The location was only disclosed if tickets costing $100 to $1,000 were bought.
“Important note! Confirmation of the date, time, and venue will be in your donation receipt,” says the website, which notes further, “Location available upon RSVP” elsewhere. “No need to print anything; just check in with ID when you arrive.”
Once a qualifying ticket is purchased, a screen appears showing the venue (“Google DC, 25 Massachusetts Ave. NW”) and features pictures of Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, among others.
“The venue likely shows up as something different now since Google confirmed to The Daily Caller News Foundation that the event was occurring at its offices in the nation’s capital, and subsequently that it was canceled since leadership had allegedly just become aware,” The DC reported further.
“June 6th: Games, drinks and building the bench with Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand & Cory Booker!!” the invite says. “Why? Because Run For Something set a goal of recruiting 50,000 new voices this year to run for office — and you want to help make it happen.”
As you might expect, once they were busted, Google clammed up like a boss, refusing to answer any questions about the event or why it would become involved in something so blatantly politically biased.
Now, granted, as The DC reports, Google and others with large venues have rented to conservative and Republican groups before, but there isn’t any evidence that they were hosting GOP fundraisers.
All of this Left-wing bias coupled with Trump-GOP-conservative hate being expressed by the tech giants is reaching a boiling point with some House Republicans. (Related: Google, Facebook, YouTube censorship of conservative sites, voices just like Communist CHINA)
On Sunday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes of California suggested that at some point in the near future Google officials may need to appear before Congress and testify following recent reports noting that search engine results linked Republicans to “Nazism.”
In an interview with Fox Business, he also suggested that the tech giants have become monopolies that “should be reined in” if a free-market competitor can’t step up to challenge their market dominance and won’t “censor” conservatives.
“I think there’s a free market solution here if somebody can compete with Google. If they can’t, then ultimately we’re looking at monopolies and then that brings in a whole other set of circumstances is — are these companies; Facebook, Twitter, Google, apple, etc.; are they monopolies and should they be reined in,” Nunes said on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
He added: “I would hope we don’t have to go there. I would hope that they just don’t get involved in politics and don’t censor conservatives and Republicans, but if they continue to do it then we have to move obviously to hearings on these issues.”
Nunes later condemned Twitter for censoring news aggregation giant The Drudge Report.
“The Drudge Report is being censored today, so for the last three or four days I haven’t been able to get on the Drudge Report because it’s being censored on Twitter,” he told Bartiromo.
It seems painfully obvious by now that 1) the tech giants are all in with far-Left Democrats; and 2) they’re not going to willingly change their practices.
