The Marxist Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization received national recognition in 2020, with racist demonstrations, political pressure campaigns, mob violence and riots. The organization raked in millions from virtue-signaling corporations and naïve Democrats who came to believe that white people were inherently racist and owed reparations to the black community. Now the full extent of BLM’s money laundering operation is coming to light.
According to the most recent tax filings, BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors raked in millions from the BLM movement and funneled large sums of money to her family and friends. Two state attorneys general are already investigating the organization.
Patrisse Cullors (who was forced to resign last year) paid out nearly one million dollars ($970,000) to the father of her child, Damon Turner. The payment was used to “produce live events” and was dubbed “creative services.” She funneled another $840,000 to her brother for “security.” She herself received $120,000 for “consulting fees.” She now owns three properties in Los Angeles.
The BLM racketeering schemes did not end there. Cullors reimbursed BLM $73,000 for a charter flight and was allowed to use the organization’s $6M Los Angeles mansion for $390 to put on multiple “private events.” BLM gave hefty salaries to Cullor’s mother as well.
Cullors also paid her friend, Shalomyah Bowers, a whopping $2.1 million for “consulting services” and “operational support.” Bowers provided staffing, fundraising and other services for Cullors, as BLM grew and took advantage of people across the country. (Related: Nazi Brownshirts used media propaganda and violence against political opponents in the same way Antifa and BLM terrorize their way to power.)
Even with all the evidence of racketeering out in the open, Cullors repeatedly claims that she didn’t use any charity money for personal matters. She even claims that the $6M Los Angeles mansion was a legitimate purchase to run the BLM “charity.”
Since 2017, BLM has been operating under another charity organization. But as of December 2020, the organization became an independent 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit and was required to publicly disclose its financials. The latest tax filings show that the organization operates a $4 million budget and has nearly $42 million in assets. In 2020, the organization received $90 million in donations after they organized nationwide protests and put pressure on corporations and governments. Another $32 million has been invested in stocks, and $37 million has been spent on real estate and consulting firms.
But the organization is doing next to nothing for the black community. Instead, they are wasting millions of charity donations on lavish living for their inner circle of family and friends. BLM has done nothing but attack law enforcement around the nation, as they try to gain power through mob rule. Shalomyah Bowers, BLM board secretary, openly admits they fund grassroots organizations that do “not have or believe in police, prisons, jails, or violence.” BLM chapters operating in Boulder, Colorado, Boston, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Michigan, Los Angeles, California, Gary, Indiana, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania all received grants as high as $500,000 to dismantle, influence, and control law enforcement operations.
